Subject: .Net Developers (Reston and Alexandria)
Author: Justin Ayers
Date: 3/19/2008
Body:

***Both positions require US Citizenship and the ability to be cleared.***

In a nutshell, the project is to enhance an existing system that was written using ASP.Net 1.1 and C# and Javascript. It is comprised of two components: a publicly accessible site that provides access to basic information about a prisoner and a controlled access site that provides access to approximately 120 data fields, some of which allow rich text entry. There are several search features that have been built including a dynamic query building engine. The system was deployed in late 2004 and has run stably since.

The main things we’re looking for:

- U.S. Citizen that is clearable (does not have to have a clearance now)

- ASP.Net with C# (Framework 1.1)

- Javascript experience beyond basic form validation (parent/child window manipulation, partial page submission, etc.)

- Writing/Testing SQL Server 2000 Stored procedure and User Function

- Knowledge of transitioning from .Net 1.1 to 2.0 and beyond, beneficial, but not essential as this may not be an option.

- Knowledge of transitioning from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and beyond, beneficial, but not essential as this may not be an option.

Day-to-Day stuff will include designing, implementing, testing, and documenting enhancements to the existing system. Small team environment 3 - 5 people so everyone has an important role. There are times when working late into the night/early morning may be necessary, but not a normal occurrence. They will need to be able to write decently as they will need to document the modifications/enhancements (the code, related design and system documentation, and provide input to user documentation).
