Project Description:




Supporting a large application development effort with the US Army.  The Project Team consists of 9 persons (technical, functional, and management). The current technical staff (5) includes 2 database programmers/analysts and 3 developers. (The larger Project Team (Prime and all subs) totals 25.)   Our team provides the application development and database expertise, while the other subs provide functional expertise. The solution is web-based, using the .NET Framework (vb.net and asp.net) with a SQL Server 2000 database (likely will be moving to SQL Server 2008 within the next 12 months).


Job Description:


Currently hiring a candidate who will, under general supervision, develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software (Web-based .NET applications).   Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and 2-4 years of related work experience.


Required Qualifications:


• Develops code necessary to complete the assigned project(s) in the specified time frame according to departmental standards and guidelines.

• Writes, modifies, and debugs software for client applications. 

• Works with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems, resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements. 

• Uses source debuggers and visual development environments. 

• Profiles, analyzes and optimizes the software he/she is responsible for implementing.

• Employs best practices for design, development, unit testing and test plan development.

• Maintains completed software throughout the Software Development Life Cycle and in production. 

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. 


Security Clearance:


Candidates must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.  Accordingly, U.S. Citizenship is required. 


Desired Qualifications:


• Experience as a software developer on a full lifecycle software development project utilizing SEI CMM/CMMI practices. 

• Experience with Configuration Management practices, Crystal Reports 11 and/or Active Reports.
