SharePoint Administrator Job Description:




POSITION SUMMARY:



The Microsoft SharePoint administrator will be tasked with the day-to-day administration and support for our SharePoint MOSS environment and related Windows SharePoint Services intranet sites. The SharePoint administrator will also be responsible for all SharePoint document management capability support and training Institute wide.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



-Installation & configuration of SharePoint servers.

-SharePoint document management administration.

-Administering & managing the SharePoint farms and databases.

-Administering the Institutes MS SharePoint WSS sites.

-Developing, maintaining, and enforcing SharePoint governance policies.

-Ensuring the integrity and security of SharePoint data in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.

-Performing SharePoint network and security audits and managing security for all sub-sites.

-Deploying SharePoint custom features and packages.

-Performing and testing routine SharePoint backups and restores.

-Monitoring and Analyzing SharePoint server, application, network, and input/output device performance.

-Responsible for SharePoint infrastructure (hardware, OS, etc).

-Responsible for portal infrastructure (hardware, OS, etc).

-Administering all SharePoint security and permissions.

-SharePoint support, including backups and restorations.

-Site provisioning and dissemination of general SharePoint information

-Manage SharePoint file size limits and quotas.

-Enforce site standards (layouts, security processes, etc.).



QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:



-Certifications in WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 a plus.

-Skills to install, configure, and support SharePoint Portal Server, Windows SharePoint Services and integrate related 3rd party applications.

-Well versed in web and database server management and security issues.

-Candidate should possess knowledge in Windows Server 2000 and 2003, Windows Load Balancing, and DNS as it relates to the installation and maintenance of CMS and SharePoint.

-Strong knowledge of Windows architecture, deployment considerations, and structured development methodologies a plus
