The Software Architect provides architectural oversight and guidance for the design and development of applications in the enterprise.  The Software Architect works closely with Sales, Product Managers, Project Managers, Solutions Analysts, Software Engineers, and Quality Assurance to ensure the enterprise architecture meets the needs of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architect solutions at the lowest cost to implement with high availability.

• Ensure that the Software Engineering team develops software that meets architectural specifications.

• Develop frameworks/architectural patterns as required.

• Ensure the system meets performance, availability, redundancy, and security requirements.

• Ability to “roll up sleeves” and act as an individual contributor on an as needed basis.

• Interface with Quality & Support teams to troubleshoot high profile field trouble reports.

• Mentor more junior members of the Software Engineering team.

• Maintain enterprise architecture documentation and looks for innovative ways to eliminate complexity and lower total software development costs.

• Ability to produce accurate and detailed estimates by working with other technical team members and business requirements.

• Evaluate, select, and implement 3rd party software to reduce TCO and development costs.

• Research new technologies for applicability to basys’ customer and business needs.

REQUIREMENTS

• B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

• At least 10 years of professional experience designing, developing and unit testing software.

• At least 6 year of experience developing software in technologies applicable to basys: C#, .Net 2.0/3.5, ASP.Net, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, AJAX, Windows or Web applications, and Web Services.

• Expert object-oriented analysis and design; familiar with design patterns and frameworks.

• Experience designing/implementing Service Oriented Architectures, Software-As-A-Service solutions, and Enterprise Application Integration with legacy systems.

• Position requires minimal travel.

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Work Visa required.
