 Welcome Minimize

Welcome to the launch of Caparea.NET's SharePoint SIG!

Overwhelming interest in all things SharePoint has led the leaders of Northern Virginia's .NET User Group to launch a spin-off of the group to meet users' requests.  The SharePoint Special Interest Group (SSIG) is focused on delivering the content the users want.  While the SharePoint platform is extensive, we plan to deliver speakers able to address a wide variety of topics, including development, information architecture, user experience, governance and infrastructure.  All these components come together to create the best SharePoint experience.

We hope to see you soon!

This presentation is designed to inform and demonstrate how companies are using SharePoint's Excel Services to deliver reporting of key business data to managers and executives.  We will demonstrate the necessary components by completing a walk through from start to finish of building an Executive dashboard.

Ash Bonebrake is the Managing Member of Watkins IT. He has been working with SharePoint technologies since before SharePoint was officially a product.   He has architected and built countless numbers of SharePoint solutions from simple process workflows to complete applications built on the SharePoint architecture.  Ash regularly engages with customers to develop Scorecards and Dashboards, using SQL server Analysis Services, Excel, and SharePoint.  Some of Ash’s specialty is integrating financial and LOB systems data with SharePoint data to create comprehensive operational and reporting systems leveraging the full spectrum of Microsoft’s product offerings.

John Miller
Powershell is the next-generation scripting environment for Microsoft
tech. New products including Exchange, System Center and SQL Server
ship with Powershell plugins OOB. What does that mean for the
Sharepoint admin or developer? Drop by as John Miller provides a short
introduction to Powershell, then shows us how we can accelerate common
tasks and pain points in Sharepoint including

•       Development Acceleration
•       Setup & configuration
•       Data Migration
•       Governance

This talk will include script downloads and techniques to let you hit
the ground running. Anyone responsible for a dev or production
Sharepoint environment should not miss this meeting.

John Miller is a consultant working for Booz Allen Hamilton where he uses Sharepoint 2007 to deliver solutions that endure for government clients. In addition to his development experience, John has worked as a System Admin and a Project Manager, so the excuse "it compiles on my workstation" will not be accepted.
